Welcome to the Leibniz-Institut für Molekulare Pharmakologie (FMP)!

The FMP is devoted to research in molecular pharmacology, which deals with the interaction of small molecules with their cellular targets, and the effects of these interactions on cells and organisms as a whole. These are vastly different scales of life, so successful research in this area requires a broad interdisciplinary approach.

Chemical Biology

Research at the FMP is organized into three main areas. The signal transduction and molecular genetics section studies cell biology, physiology and pathology. Our chemical biology section develops molecular tools for probing cellular processes. Finally, our structural biology section explores drug-target interactions at the molecular level.
