New technologies allow us to observe and investigate aspects of life that would be otherwise invisible to the human eye. They have thus played a central role in the development of new biological concepts. In recent times the traditional microscope has been supplemented by a wide range of new and sophisticated methods to visualize living processes at the molecular level.

Our technology platforms

The FMP has invested in a unique combination of technology platforms. These include a state-of-the-art NMR-facility, an open screening platform, an electron microscopy lab, and a mass spectrometry lab. Our platforms offer services to in-house researchers across all three sections. They also play an important role in national and international collaborative projects.
